WHO DIED AND LEFT AL GORE IN CHARGE?

Didn’t he lose the presidency in 2000? Yeah, we know, we know, the left will always think he won it, with that strangely-timed "call" of the election by Big Media in his favor, which cost Bush untold bushels of the popular vote, and possibly even some electoral ones.

But, once the smoke had cleared, the hanging chads had frozen in place, and the U.S. Supreme Court had spoken, we do recall him saying he was "going away," just as his opponent’s supporters had urged him to do. Guess he didn’t mean for that long.

Before the 2004 election, he was back, he and Howard Dean having that "who’s most likely to bust a blood vessel while getting red-faced and bashing Bush" competition. With that unforgettable scream, it might be said that Dean won that one on points, though it didn’t do much for his chances at winning the nomination later taken by John Kerry.

After that election, Gore emerged again, this time as "the authority," the supreme spokesperson, on all things related to global warming. He soon pronounced that "the debate is over" on global warming, and that reality in this arena, was, you guessed it, what he says it is.

Once ridiculed by the entertainment world (remember wife Tipper’s efforts to get music CD’s to carry obscenity warning labels?; that crowd didn’t "warm" to that much), he now became the new, pre-Obama "darling" of Hollywood, complete with Academy Awards and no less than the Nobel Peace Prize. Yes, they were completely serious when they gave him those things. The one once called "Gore the bore" by some was now a star of the screen.

Mr. Gore’s new-found gig of Supreme Climate Change Commander (SCCC?), comes complete with a "don’t do as I do, do as I say do" routine, since he is part of the big limo and private jet liberal crowd, and, as widely circulated on the internet, his Tennessee home is much less efficient and consumes a great deal more energy than that guy who made him get red-faced’s house out in Crawford, Texas (no, that one is not an urban legend).

His house reportedly uses enough electricity to power 232 average households in America for an entire month. Plus, we hear he also has a 100-foot houseboat docked on a lake in Tennessee–but, hold on, its supposed to be an "environmentally friendly" 100-foot houseboat.

If Obama wins this election, there is no telling how much of the former vice-president we will be seeing, though "a lot more Gore" would probably be an accurate projection. If McCain wins, and boy, do we hope he does, that doesn’t guarantee that Gore will "just go away" again. But, it’s worth taking the chance...
