Here’s a topic you haven’t heard much at all about from Big Media this campaign season, and don’t expect to hear much else from them prior to Election Day:
Voter fraud.
Dead men voting, people in hospitals casting votes at the polls, inordinate amounts of absentee ballots, people registering to vote multiple times or under multiple names, more names on the county voting rolls than were counted in the last U.S. Census, just minor stuff like that.
We’ve rarely heard accounts of voter fraud that involved Republicans. The same can’t be said for Democrats. No, not all Democrats or even most Democrats engage in voter fraud. But this is America. It is supposed to be fair. You know, liberty and justice for all. Any voter fraud is too much, and we fear that improperly cast ballots will be in great supply come Election Day.
Don’t expect to read a word about that in a Big Media newspaper or see it on one of their newscasts. It is kind of like their reporting and their "opinion polls." In our opinion, if Big Media is biased in favor of the left, and that liberal bias is undeniable, then we have to wonder about whatever opinion polls it takes or commissions–how accurate are those? Since Big Media favors the left, and most voting fraud that is uncovered favors that side as well, then how seriously do you think Big Media is going to "investigate" that subject? Don’t expect to see the weekly news programs take on that one.
Another reason Big Media does not report much on voter fraud is that Big Media is scared to death to do anything that might lead to cries of "racism" against it or charges of "singling out" a particular minority group. If the suspected voter fraud is in an area that is mostly African-American, then Big Media will likely do its "I didn’t see anything, did you?" routine and avoid the subject as much as possible.
If this voter fraud involved mostly Republicans, do you think for a minute that Big Media would largely ignore it, as it does now? Not on your life. We would hear cries of "scandal" from media pundits and national liberal Democrats, and righteous indignation to beat the band. But, if it involves Democrats, it just isn’t a "priority" issue to Big Media.
And, a related point: if it is claimed by Republicans that voter fraud has occurred and that legitimate "voter ID" must be instituted in this country, nationwide, then liberal Democrats and their PACs scream that the GOP is trying to "suppress" voting or "disenfranchise" voters. That Republicans are being "racist." No, that’s not it. They just want the cheating to stop.
The media in Mississippi, to its credit, did report on alleged voter fraud that allegedly occurred last fall in Jefferson Davis County in a Democratic primary race for county chancery clerk. Allegedly, votes were cast in the names of some deceased persons, and by some who were in the hospital on election day. Ultimately, the state ordered a new primary election, and the candidate who had not benefitted from the alleged voter fraud ultimately prevailed. The candidate who would have been helped by the alleged fraud was African-American, and her ultimately winning opponent was white.
By just mentioning this incident, and making the identities just stated, we will be likely be called "racist" by some on the left. If so, that is absurd. It is what it is. Regardless of who was allegedly committing the fraud, it should be prosecuted, and elections set aside as that one was, and conducted correctly without the alleged fraud. Regardless of race or political party.
Here’s a question for you: what would the vote total be if ALL of the fraudulent or otherwise improper votes cast got thrown out? Imagine what it would be like–and we wonder if you can--to have an election in which there were no dead people voting, no people in hospitals "voting" at a precinct, no one voting multiple times under assumed names or multiple registrations, and no underhanded stuff going on to get people to vote a certain way?
But, we won’t be waiting around for Big Media to investigate this issue. We believe they are not going to do much of anything to hurt their celebrity candidate.
Big Media does not miss a chance to piously "educate" us on the need for "free speech" and "First Amendment rights." Except when exercising those gets in the way of Big Media’s leftist agenda. By ignoring this fraud, Big Media makes a mockery of the sacrifice of thousands of Americans who died for those freedoms, from the beaches of Normandy and Iwo Jima, to the mountains of Afghanistan and the cities of Iraq.
Voter fraud threatens to turn our country into "the land of the sneaks and the home of the cheats."
That stinks. It really, really stinks.
